Colors TCG 7th Anniversary - Day 19

Hi everyone, this year's Anniversary is coming to an end soon but today we're going to watch some anime! Or read some manga if you prefer.

First, go to Crunchyroll or Random Anime. You can also use any other site that has a "random result" button. If you'd rather read manga instead, any site that allows you to randomly choose a series will do (the one that starts with a B for example).

Pick a series at random. You may repeat this step if you get something you already know or something that obviously isn't your thing. If it's an anime, watch the first epsode (or at least 5-10 minutes of it). If it's a manga, read the first chapter. Then post your impressions and if you'd ike to continue watching/reading in at least 2-3 sentences.

Please use the following form:

For sharing your thoughts you'll get luckyseven19, one choice character card and one choice special which you can take immediately. You'll also receive five random cards.

This game (and all other anniversary games) close July 1st, noon GMT!

How was it? I actually had to watch more than one episode, since each episode is only 4 minutes long (with the opening and ending scenes). It has 12 episodes, so that's about 24 minutes total for the entire series. It kinda felt like you get a small sense of what the characters and school is like without having to dive into a whole bunch of conversation. The wiki description states it as being an anime that covers what happens when nothing is happening. I think that sums it up really well LOL.
I didn't like that it was so short (because, really, I don't mind watching a show about nothing as long as it's cute or done well). I'm still wanting to see the crab from the intro come into play, so that disappointed me. Overall, I really liked it. If anyone watches it, though, make sure you keep watching after the ending scene, since there is some dialogue after it.

taking nomercy12 and meganes19, thanks!

How was it? Uh, well. There was very little dialogue until the end and it was just a lot of cuts of shots and people breathing really hard and... ? ???????????? ? ? Not sure what I just watched tbh

without looking it up, 'breathing really hard, awkward cuts, little dialouge'.... this sounds like a porn. what were you searching for sky!?!?!?!

How was it? okay I always see this anime around but I never watched it so. it looks pretty cute so far, but I'm not a huge fan of shoujo romance series set in high school unless it's got a specific premise that interests me because it seems like once you've seen a couple you've seen them all. the animation's not terrible either though it's definitely pretty shoujo-y haha. I'd probably continue watching eventually, if I ran out of other stuff I wanted to watch first.

How was it? I'm kind of hit or miss with slice of life series like this, but I like this one quite a bit so far. I can relate to the protagonist a lot, for I too am trying to escape to the city most of the time... although she's probably gonna learn she's wrong and that the country is great and blah blah blah... but still. The feel of this kind of reminds me of a Ghibli movie. I think I'll keep watching, especially since there's a dub available so I can do so while working on TCG stuff without my eyes getting crossed.

This show is absolutely ridiculous. By which I mean I'm enjoying it a lot already. I think this was actually on my PTW list at some point, too, so it was a good excuse to finally get around to it. I love Hozuki, and this type of comedy is right up my alley, so I definitely want to continue watching it!

And completely forgot my cards, whoops - taking cakepig09, hirarin08!

How was it? I enjoyed episode 1-- I think I recognized a character or two from Colors, actually! I like the concept of tanuki and tengu living in Kyoto, and the characters seem interesting. Crunchyroll was messing up but I might continue watching later!

How was it? The art style is nice. The first ten minutes weren't super interesting (though I have the attention span of a turnip today), but the synopses I've read seem pretty cool, so maybe I'll give the show another chance sometime later.

How was it? It's pretty cute, but it really jumps around even on the first chapter. All the same, I'm interested in learning more about Mei and Madoka. I'll probably keep reading to gauge my interest in the series, though apparently it got cut before it could end properly in five or so volumes.

This might be cheating cause i was planing to watch it at some point (the randomizer gave me it, and honestly it was the only thing it recommended that i didn't see at this point, or that didn't interest me).
The plot seemed kind of interesting enough, but its to early in episode one for me to say if I would stick with it or not. Originally, I saw the comic in a store and was like 'ah this looks like a horror' and forgot about it, watching the anime, it wasn't what i was expecting. I might continue it, since its not that long of a series.

when i first found the series (after going through many on batoto that didn't even have any chapters released/listed lol), the first thing i noticed was the art which looked familiar to me so i checked to see who the author was and their other works, and realized it was by the same person who did lovely complex which explained everything! however, i have never actually read or watched lovely complex but i always heard good things so i went into this series with some expectations.

after reading the first chapter though, i don't know if i'll continue it? it's about an idol unit & i'm assuming it'll be about the entertainment business, etc. so i want to give it a chance because i love anything idols, even the most cliche and predictable plots/stories, but the first chapter (which was 52 pages) didn't really catch my interest... also, there were enough action/events into the single chapter alone that could've spanned more than just one chapter so it felt a little rushed to me. i also didn't particularly like or care for either of the main characters yet so i didn't feel inclined to continue reading for one or both of them. ;;

SO i guess we'll see if i continue it! the comments on the series page said it gets better later so i may just give it a shot... anyways, i'll be taking aquarius05, kakkii05, thanks!

I only made it through the first half of the episode because the animation really isn't to my taste? It's pretty low budget and there is a /lot/ of computer generated elements that are jarring enough that it's distracting. The character designs are pretty nice though and are definite cosplay fodder. Cute girls fighting mech in a post apocalyptic earth has been done a lot and I'm not sure if this is any kind of expansion on the genre!

I'll probably watch the rest of the first episode out of sheer curiosity, but otherwise I'm not sure if I can ignore the style enough to make it further in - still the literal earth made of cog and gears is a pretty cool concept :3

How was it? The first second of the show was Rejet and I almost instantly felt doubt LOL it's very...typical? It feels more like extra fanservice for people who know the canon and I am unfortunately not one of them. I like the songs I've heard so far but as a whole it's not really grabbing me...I'm a bit tired of high school idols tbh why are there so many idol schools. I think it might work better for me as a rhythm game to feel more engaged with it b/c otherwise I can't really find myself caring much. (The characters also feel very surface-level to me at the moment, but they're cute in their own ways.)

Taking sexytype06, sleighbeggy05, thank you!

How was it? This was a very sweet, cute show! I think it just aired this spring; I had heard the name before but didn't know anything else about it. Seems like a nice romance between two equally awkward middle schoolers. Not much in the way of plot besides that, but sometimes that's all you need in a show. The quiet tone and soft art style also work well together. The one negative I have is that there were occasional shots of really obvious, poorly-done CGI background characters. Definitely something I'd like to keep watching!

Taking naturally01 and koyasut20, thank you!
